Beneficiaries of Orange Knowledge Scholarship will be offered the following benefits:

  • It is intended to supplement the salary that you should continue to get throughout the scholarship duration.
  • Support towards your living expenses and expenses such as tuition fees, visa, travel, insurance etc.

Eligibility for Orange Knowledge Scholarship Program

The eligibility criteria for Orange Knowledge Scholarship are as follows:

  • Applicant works for one of the following kinds of national and/or local establishments: ministries, secondary or higher vocational or academic education institutions, universities, private sector, NGOs or commissions.
  • Applicant may not work for: a bilateral or multilateral organization; a non-governmental organization that is internationally active, and is concentrated on representing social interests, such as development cooperation, nature and environmental protection, health or human rights.
  • Applicant is a professional who, in light of his/her (1) role, (2) multiple years of significant work experience and (3) networks within a theme pertinent to local development, is in a position or through his/her employer could be put in a position to apply what he/she has learned in practice.
  • Applicant holds the citizenship and is resident and working in one of the nations on the OKP Country list
  • Applicant has a legal identity document.
  • Applicant has been accepted to the course or program he/she wishes an OKP scholarship for.
  • Applicant has made available a government statement with the scholarship application.
  • Applicant make evident that the demanded co-funding percentage is available to fund the study.
  • The scholarship candidate employer sponsors the scholarship application through a positive reference, proclaims that it will carry on to pay the salary of the scholarship beneficiary during the program, and after his/her return will give the scholarship beneficiary an opportunity to apply what he/she has learned in practice.

How to Apply for Orange Knowledge Scholarship Program

  • Apply with a Dutch higher education institution of your choice. 
  • Communicate to the Dutch higher education institution which offers the OKP qualified course you want, to figure out the application processes.

The three application phases for individual scholarships are:

• First Phase: 3rd Feb – 23rd March, 2021 (courses beginning between 26th July and 21st Nov, 2021).

• Second Phase: 12th May – 29th June, 2021 (short courses beginning between 22 Nov, 2021 and 20th Feb, 2022).

• Third Phase: 1st Sept – 12th October, 2021 (short courses beginning on or after 21st Feb, 2022 and ending before 31st August, 2022.

NB:  the deadlines are subject to change until officially declared in the Government Gazette.

Selection Procedure

The process is as follows:

  1. Applicants register with their Dutch education institution
  2. Dutch institution nominates candidates and submits grant application
  3. Embassies check eligibility and assess applications
  4. Selection results declared
  5. Awards granted
